WinTally™ is Newnes-McGehee's solution for sorter management in the sawmill and planermill. Production information is captured by WinTally™ as boards pass into the sorter and arrages data into an organized and logical dtabase. Information can be viewed in real-time on the Wintally™ computer, or from a remote location.
WinTally™ provides a user-friendly interface for setting up sorts and managing bins, configuring alarms and info master messages.
With the V6 WinTally™ system all sorting is done in the tally instead of the PLC. This reduces PLC scan time and increases PLC memory. The hardware for this system has been designed using RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks); if a disk fails the system will continue to operate. WinTally™ operates with three hard drives; two are continuously updated and if one fails, the next one can take its place. The hard drives are hot swappable allowing quick replacement without stopping.
